NBCUniversal and YouTube said Monday that Peacock YouTube Premium access will roll out to YouTube Premium subscribers in the U.S. in early 2027. For investors watching streaming, the deal shows NBCUniversal trying to grow Peacock through distribution and bundles while other media companies pursue acquisitions.

The companies described the agreement as a multi-year global strategic partnership. Under the deal, Peacock’s Premium plan will be made available to U.S. YouTube Premium subscribers, giving those users access to Peacock programming inside the YouTube experience.

That matters because streaming services are fighting for attention as much as subscriptions. A bundle can put a service in front of viewers who may not open a separate app, while giving the platform selling the bundle a broader entertainment package.

What is included in the Peacock YouTube Premium deal?

NBCUniversal and YouTube said the U.S. offering will include Peacock Premium, the ad-supported Peacock plan. TechCrunch reported that Peacock Premium costs $10.99 per month.

Peacock’s catalog includes live sports and entertainment programming. According to the announcement, the lineup includes NFL and NBA coverage, “Saturday Night Live,” “Love Island USA,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and Bravo shows including The Real Housewives franchise.

The companies said Peacock content will be integrated into YouTube, so viewers can find and watch it without leaving the platform. In plain English, that means YouTube wants to function less like a single video app and more like a front door for creator videos, live sports, and paid TV services.

The partnership also reaches outside the U.S. NBCUniversal’s Universal+ and Hayu streaming services will be offered through YouTube Premium in selected markets, according to the companies. NBCUniversal also plans to make Peacock Premium available later this summer as a separate add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels.

Why NBCUniversal is choosing bundles

NBCUniversal has already placed Peacock in other large consumer ecosystems. TechCrunch reported that Peacock has partnership deals with Amazon and Apple, and described the YouTube agreement as Peacock’s largest push yet to put its shows and sports where viewers already spend time.

The move arrives during a busy stretch for media dealmaking. TechCrunch has reported that Paramount Skydance agreed to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, and that Fox is buying Roku. Those deals point to a different strategy: getting bigger through ownership, rather than mainly through distribution partnerships.

Peacock’s current pitch is helped by improving financial results. TechCrunch reported that Peacock posted its first quarterly profit in the second quarter of 2026 and has 48 million paid subscribers.

For YouTube, the agreement adds a major entertainment brand to YouTube Premium. For NBCUniversal, it puts Peacock in front of a large subscription audience without requiring those viewers to start from a separate app or subscription flow.

Peacock Premium Plus, the higher-tier Peacock plan, has already been available through YouTube Primetime Channels since late June, according to TechCrunch. The new agreement expands the relationship by bringing the ad-supported Premium plan into the YouTube Premium subscription bundle beginning in early 2027.
