Robinhood Q2 2026 earnings showed a record revenue quarter, powered by options, equities and event contracts while cryptocurrency trading weakened. For investors following HOOD, the results show that the company’s transaction revenue came from several areas, with event contracts producing more revenue than crypto during the quarter.
Robinhood released results on July 29 for the three months ended June 30. The company reported $1.31 billion in total net revenue, up 32% from a year earlier, and net income of $573 million, up 48%. Diluted earnings per share were $0.62, also up 48%, according to Robinhood’s earnings release.
Reuters reported that adjusted earnings were 48 cents per share, above the 44-cent average analyst estimate compiled by LSEG. Adjusted earnings and reported diluted EPS are different measures, so the figures should not be treated as interchangeable.
Why did event contracts exceed crypto revenue at Robinhood?
Robinhood said transaction-based revenue rose 44% year over year to $776 million. Event contracts generated $156 million, more than 10 times the level of a year earlier. That exceeded the $100 million from crypto transactions and the $129 million from equities transactions.
Options remained the largest reported transaction category, generating $342 million in revenue, up 29% year over year. Equities revenue rose 95%, while crypto revenue fell 38%. The event-contract business brought in $56 million more revenue than crypto during the quarter, based on Robinhood’s reported figures.
That mix helps explain how Robinhood posted record revenue despite the crypto decline. Reuters attributed the quarterly profit beat to strong activity in equities, options and prediction markets, which offset weaker cryptocurrency trading.
A record profit figure included a one-time-related gain
The $573 million net-income result included $129 million in gains, primarily tied to the deconsolidation of Robinhood Ventures Fund I, Robinhood said. The company said the same item contributed $0.14 to its $0.62 diluted EPS. That disclosure separates the quarter’s reported bottom-line profit from the operating categories that drove revenue growth.
Robinhood also reported $369 billion in total platform assets, up 32% from a year earlier, and $21.7 billion in net deposits during the quarter. It ended the period with 28.4 million funded customers, 4.8 million Robinhood Gold subscribers and average revenue per user of $187.
Management said 13 Robinhood business lines had reached at least $100 million in annualized revenue. The company’s results establish a sharp Q2 shift in transaction revenue toward event contracts, options and equities, while crypto remained a smaller and declining contributor year over year.
HOOD shares fell 0.8% in extended trading after the results, Reuters reported.
