JPMorganChase’s JPMorgan 2028 LA Olympics investment is built around a rare combination: worldwide Olympic marketing rights, a high-profile event in a city where it already has a large customer base, and a push to deepen relationships with local businesses. The bank became the first Global Banking Partner in Olympic history on April 28, 2026, according to the International Olympic Committee and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

The price has not been made public. CNBC reported that deals at this sponsorship level are estimated to exceed $200 million for each four-year cycle, but that figure is an industry estimate, not a confirmed JPMorganChase payment.

Why is JPMorgan investing in the 2028 LA Olympics?

The partnership places the bank in Olympic categories that reach both global corporate clients and U.S. consumers. The IOC says JPMorganChase is the Worldwide Olympic Partner for Asset and Wealth Management and Private Banking, plus Commercial and Investment Banking. In the United States, it is an LA28 Founding Partner in the retail-banking category, as well as the official bank of Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Worldwide Olympic Partner status is the IOC’s top sponsorship tier. CNBC reported that the program gives partners exclusive marketing rights in their categories. JPMorganChase’s agreement includes the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2030 French Alps Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, according to the IOC.

For investors, the key point is that the company is framing the arrangement as more than event advertising. Carla Hassan, JPMorganChase’s chief marketing officer, told CNBC that the bank plans to assess its return through brand strength, client and customer engagement, customer acquisition and employee pride. Those are company targets, rather than evidence of a financial payoff already achieved.

A sponsorship paired with a Los Angeles expansion

JPMorganChase is attaching practical local programs to the LA28 deal. At the April announcement, the USOPC said the firm served more than 5 million customers and 589,000 small-business clients in greater Los Angeles, through more than 330 branches and 6,000 employees.

On Aug. 5, the bank said it would add more than 100 business bankers across Southern California over five years, a nearly 30% increase. It also said it would expand its Coaching for Impact program to reach more than 3,700 additional entrepreneurs in Greater Los Angeles and Riverside, provide more than $1 million in new philanthropic funding for small-business support, and open a Community Center Branch in East Los Angeles.

Those efforts are intended to help local companies prepare for procurement opportunities, access capital and build supplier connections, including opportunities connected to the Games, JPMorganChase said. They are plans and commitments, not guaranteed economic results for participating businesses.

What else does the Olympic agreement include?

JPMorganChase and the IOC said they plan financial-health workshops for athletes through the Athlete365 platform. The bank also said it will work with NBCUniversal on technology and innovation supporting the broadcaster’s multi-platform LA28 coverage, including athlete and competition storytelling.

The IOC said revenue from the worldwide partnership will be redistributed to sports organizations, including national Olympic committees, athletes and organizing committees. For JPMorganChase, the bet is on turning a global sports platform and its local LA presence into stronger customer and business relationships over the years leading to 2028.
